Junction US 19 & SR494 (north of Homosassa Springs) The end of the road--Gulf of Mexico SR 494 LIGold First few miles are fast sweepers, then into the tighter stuff.
Chassahowitzka Junction SR 480 & US 41 SR 480 Darren Osgood Freshly surfaced, smooth as silk. Consists of rolling hills and long sweeping high speed corners. Watch for "road kill." Goes through the Withlacoochee State Forest--Geez, YT thought Wisconsin had some wierd names for places!
Ft. Myers Labelle SR 31, SR 78, SR 80 Richard Wiseman Get off of I75 at exit 26, go east to SR 31, north to SR 78 (a mile max). This is probably the best road in this part of the state. At SR 80, head east to Labelle. Excellent scenery with lots of corners, very little traffic.

NOTE:  Richard didn't mention that there are straights that allow any speed you want and a couple of sweepers that go. . . Many straights broken up by sets of turns, free of sand and has good visibility. One congestion area in Alva that includes a very tight turn, but stay east, do not go to 80, take it all the way to 29, it is worth it! Great country roads, very little traffic. You will not be alone though, I found more then one group of sport bikes putting the hurt on this stretch. Awesome! Mel Barrett 01' 929 Fort Myers, FL

Junction SR 583 and SR 52 Junction 583 and US 41 SR 583 (a/k/a Ehren Cutoff) Darren Osgood (Pasco County near Cowers Corner) One of the better roads near Tampa.
Tarpon Springs near Anclote River--585A (Anclote) to New Port Richey on US 19 Anclote Road Darren Osgood Head west on Anclote Road. Follow the road until you get to Baleys Bluff, turn right on Trouble Creek Road and follow it to the end. Will bring you out on US 19. Many turns marked 10-15 mph. Watch for sand in some corners. Lots of fun, little traffic.
Defuniak Springs Ponce De Leon SR 280/SR 183/SR 81 TragusaIII Head south out of Defuniak Springs on SR 280 at the Jct of 280/183, continue east on SR 183. At the Jct of 183/81, head north (go left) on SR 81 to Ponce De Leon--approximately 20 miles. This is the hilliest area in Florida.
Upper Metecumbe Key West U. S. 1 "The Overseas Highway" JR This ride has NO twisty turns and LOTS of traffic, but it takes in some of the most beautiful views a rider can see while crossing the 40 - 50 bridges that span channels full of rays, sharks, and leaping dolphins, crossing the 7 mile bridge, and checking out the mangy little Key Deer on Big Pine are required. Pull over and wait for a nice gap in traffic for a chance at some open road, plan to spend some time in Key West, there is ALOT to see and do, ride down the back-streets to get a feel for how it was 100 years ago. Duval St. is tacky and crowded, but check out Ft. Taylor Park, and snorkle the coral reef if you can spare the time. Go to the Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square, it's a tradition and it's free! See 'Ya On The Road! Ride Hard! J. R.

Watch for; Motorhomes Doing 20 MPH, Speed Trap At Bahia Honda, Low Flying Pelicans!

Central Florida Gulf Coast: Tampa Bay     Bogus Dave I organize weekly Sunday morning sportbike rides in central Florida (southeast of Tampa Bay) virtually every weekend of the year. If I can help anybody with a ride route in Hillsborough, Polk, Desoto, Hardee, Manatee, or Sarasota Counties, send them my email address. We do have curves in Florida. You just have to know where to find them. Best wishes Bogus Dave Bradenton Fl
Fort Myers (I75 at exit 22)   Omni Mel Barrett It is a place called the Omni, a 2.5 mile track sort of place that really is sweet. Get off I75 at exit 22, head east about an 1/8 of a mile and turn north on Omni. You are their. Good speed, sweepers, tights, etc. Downfall, some sand outside the groove and somewhat close to civilization, cops.
Old Hwy 37 Polk County CR 555 (South West of Bartow) Agricola Road  Wayne A. Donjon The easiest way to get to Old Hwy 37 is to get on Hwy 60 and head South to Agricola Rd. This road is not signed very well (big) so you have to keep an eye out. Lots of 90 degree turns and little traffic. This is all mining country so there are lots of RR crossings and curves all over. The road is in fair condition but watch for the unexpected.
Santa Rosa Island   SR 399 Kelly Lemke Santa Rosa Island between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach. It is FL SR 399 You can access it from US 98 Either from Navarre or Gulf Breeze FL. From Navarre, it is only a $.50 toll. From Pensacola it is a whopping dollar! The road surface is good and there are some pretty nice sweepers. If the winds are high, you need to be careful of sand in the road. Otherwise, it is one of the most beautiful stretches of shoreline in the country!
