Farmington New Hampshire border US 2 Brendan C. Guy About a 50 mile ride. Somewhat built up around Dixfield, Rumford, Hanover and Bethel but pretty empty by national standards. Surface is pretty good, corners were well marked.
Fairfield OR Jct. I-95 and US 201 Canadian Border US 201 Jim Hart Gorgeous scenery along the Kennebec river and overlooking lakes just south of Jackman. Road condition generally excellent. Some slow going in Skowhegan and The Forks. Camping and white water rafting available near and at The Forks. Several scenic waterfalls nearby, including Moxie Falls, one of the highest in Maine (90ft.) Some curvy sections, often lightly traveled. Hazards: moose and big trucks going to and from Canada, as well as pedestrians and vehicles near The Forks"
Buckport Deer Isle Hwy 175, 176, 15 Joe Caro Roads are good to very good. Not much traffic, nice twisties, great view of Penobscot Bay. Watch out for the odd radar trap. There's a lobster pond on the east side of Deer Isle with great views. (On Dessert Island)
Acadia National Park Loop around park Hwy 3 and 233 Joe Caro Great views, great roads! Go in spring or fall or after 6 p.m. in summer when most of the tourists scatter. Small fee.
Sommeville Hulls Cove Hwy 102, 102a Joe Caro About a 45 mile loop. Great lobster pond called Thurston's in time fishing village called Bernard.
