|---|---|---|---|---|
| Las Vegas | Las Vegas | Go West on Charleston Blvd | DKarasik | about 5 mi. out- side of town a senic, paved, one way loop. |
| Reno | Virginia City | Hwy 395 south to SR 17/341, then east to Virginia City | Cameron Kerr | See Note 1.below. I checked this out on Street Atlas USA--looks fantastic |
| Las Vegas | Las Vegas | Leave Las Vegas on Lake Mead Blvd. towards Lake Mead | Blake Norville | Leaving
Las Vegas from Lake Mead Blvd, take the road towards Lake
Mead and turn left at the sign to Callville Bay.
Northshore Drive will take you through some great scenery
and curvy roads for about 60 miles until you reach Valley
of Fire State Park or Overton. You can go back this way
or via I-15. It is in the Lake Mead National Recreation
Area, and is patrolled by Park Rangers. Tickets here can
be spendy. A note on the scenic road off the west end of Charleston Blvd. It is the Red Rock Loop, 13 miles in length. It now costs $2 for a motorcycle to drive through, and it is heavily traveled by bicycle riders and there is frequently lots of loose gravel in the corners. It's still worth it. |

1. Quoting Cameron Kerr, "It's about 20 miles to Virginia City. Absolutely gorgeous scenery! Don't get confident on this ride though. With all the beautiful mountain air and scenery of awesome mountain peaks and pine trees just yards off from you, you could get vertigo or something and crash off of one of the many cliffs. Many a motorcyclist has died on this road, so BE CAREFUL!"
