Sweden Valley   Rte. 44 and Rte. 144 Bentley Hammer  Pennsylvania Sweden Valley to the intersection of Highway 120 and 144 or 120 and 44. Take Highway 44 for about 18 miles, and then either turn right onto 144 just after Oleana for another 32 miles or veer left and stay on 44 and continue on for 42 miles. We did both roads the same day. There's everything from second through fourth gear riding for a sport tourer. The colors in October were nice, the Harleys abundant, and the turns were breathtaking. Elevation changes, off camber turns, fairly tight stuff (40 to 45 mph).  The Ole Bull State Park has the tallest trees I've ever seen, but watch out for wild turkeys in the area, I didn't see them but my buddy said he saw a few and they fly pretty low! Birdsboro (head south) Junction Rte. 345 Rte. 82 Philip Hamm
Junction Rte. 82 & 345 Birdsboro Rte. 345 Philip Hamm
Easton Stroudsburg Rte. 611 Thomas Thornbury About 23 miles along the Delaware River, little towns along the way.
Easton New Hope Rte. 32 George Benes Head south on Rte. 611 in Easton, at the 32 - 611 split (the Great American Grill is here and is a great place to eat) take Rte. 611 south to New Hope.
Shamokin Junction Rte. 501 & US 78 Rte. 125 & Rte. 501 George Benes Start in Shamokin, take Rte. 125 south to Rte. 501, take 501 south to US 78. 125 is tight twisties, 501 is rolling hills and twisties. Visit George's web site. For additional comments, see note 1, below
Carlisle Junction of Rt. 75 and 74 in Port Royal RT 74N Andy Book "...no doubt, some great twisties!"
Scranton, PA Port Allegany or Warren, PA US 6 Drew Szafran Name: US 6 through the mountains in east-central PA Start: Scranton, PA End: Port Allegany or Warren, PA Length: ~150 miles Spectacular views, twisties, very little traffic, at least when I rode it. Taking Rt. 59 cuts off part of the mileage of the trip and is equally fun.
West Chester, PA Rt. 52 somewhere in Delaware See Notes Drew Szafran Name: Old Rt. 100 in PA Start: West Chester, PA, town center End:  Length: ~15 miles To get to West Chester from Philly, just take Rt. 3 west until it ends. Rt. 100 south of West Chester is no longer called Rt. 100, but it's still one of the best rides in that area of PA. (Mapsonus.com and Mapquest still seem to show the number for anyone who wants to see a map). From the West Chester town center (where 3 ends), take Rt. 52 south through town until you run into S. Creek Rd. Make a left onto S. Creek, which is Old Rt. 100 and ride the twisties along the creek until you get to Rt. 1. On Rt. 1, make a left and then an immediate right onto Creek Rd. After going under the railroad bridge, bear right onto Rocky Hill Road. Follow Rocky Hill Road south through the twisties and various turns until it crosses the Delaware border and becomes Montchainin Rd/DE Rt. 100 (which is still marked). End at DE Rt. 52, which, if you go north, will take you back to West Chester (also a nice ride) or, if you go south, leads to Wilmington and I-95. -Drew

Note 1: This road has a sportability rating of 10 on a scale of 1-10. Some TIGHT hairpins, uphill ones, downhill ones, and a few level ones. It does go through a few towns, you gotta watch your speed a little, but it's good because it gives you a chance to relax a little.  My friend that rode with me said he could ride that road 10 times in one direction, then ride it 10 times in the other direction, just so he could learn all the turns. And just as good as the road is the scenery. Unbelievable scenery, especially since it's October and the leaves are dropping. There are some beautiful views, and if you are riding the road at an easy pace, you have plenty of time to enjoy it! Great road, but as a warning, do NOT attempt this road at an extremely aggressive pace. A LOT of bikes come through here, from Gold Wings to sport bikes--great riding area. Mike
