Here is some info from the State of Utah site. |
| Junction Rt. 128 & Rt. 191 north of Moab | Cisco | RT.128 | KAREN SAWYER | It runs from the junction of Rt. 191 north of Moab, Utah for 42 miles to Cisco, an abandon town. Runs next to the Colorado River through deep, red rock canyons. Road surface is good, but should not be ridden fast, the first time anyway. The view is to die for and everyone else is doing the same thing so be couscous for lane crossers. Don't include my address. Thanks, Dave |

Utah Scenic Byways It begins at the mouth of the canyon east of Logan, the home of Utah State University. Logan Canyon is host to summer and winter recreationalists alike who find activities like hiking, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and hunting easily accessible via the meandering US-89. Travelers entering the canyon are greeted by deeply cut, nearly vertical limestone walls and rock formations laden with fossils. The Logan River, popular for trout fishing, parallels your route, offering yet another reason to stop and spend some time. If you happen by as Autumn approaches you'll find the lush greens of this high mountain passage tipped with brilliant gold, red and yellow. A steady climb to the summit results in a sweeping view of the unique turquoise water of 20-mile-long Bear Lake, where you'll find marinas, beaches, cabins, and inviting bed and breakfast inns. Stop and enjoy a famous Bear Lake Raspberry shake in Laketown or catch the annual Bear Lake Music Festival, running June 20 through July 23. You'll find it easy to stop and dally along this popular route to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone National Park. And you'll be surprised at how quickly you covered the 41 miles of this Byway...no matter how long it took you.
